The Bering Sea is a continuation of the Pacific Ocean to the north and it separates the continents of North America and Europe. The Sea is surrounded by Alaska to the east and by Russia and the Kamchatka Peninsula on the western side. The Aleutian Islands are located to the south. The sea goes as far as the Bering Strait which is south of Arctic Circle.
