kilowatt (kW) is the measure of energy, usually electrical. It equals 1000 Watt of energy. kW is also used to mention capacity of motor.

Kilo means one thousand. So kilowatt means one thousand watts. So there are 1000 watts in a kilowatt. It doesn't get any easier than that.

It can be confusing trying to figure out how much a kilowatt is. Believe it or not, one kilowatt is the equivalent of one thousand watts!
