How do You Figure Square Foot?

When measuring a square foot, you are looking at a flat surface and figuring the complete size of that space. You simply take the length and multiply it by the width. Let's assume you have a dog that went on a horrible rampage through your living room because you left him alone for the entire day. Due to stains and damage you need to replace the carpet in your living room. Since carpeting is sold by the square foot you need to determine how much you will need. Measure the length and width of your room. Take these two measurements and multiply them to determine the square footage of that room. Let's assume your room is 10 feet long and 12 feet wide. When multiplied you get 120 square feet. This is how much carpeting you will need to purchase to replace the damage, and might I suggest you also not leave poor Fido home alone again!
