How to Treat Dog Bites?

Answer

To treat a dog bite you must first secure the area by removing the victim or the dog to prevent further damage. Next you should control the bleeding and if severe bleeding is present use a tourniquet. When the blood has been controlled you should then clean the wound inside and out with warm soap and water rinsing away all soap residue. Cover the cleaned wound with a clean dry dressing adding an antibiotic cream. If the wound is considered serious (requiring stitches) medical attention should be sought immediately.
