How to Cook a Goose?

Answer

To cook a goose, first make sure all of the tiny pin feathers have been removed. Next wash the goose in cold water and place him in a roasting pan. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder on the inside and outside of the goose. Baste the outside with melted butter and sprinkle on parsley. Roast, uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the size of the goose. Baste with more butter thoughout the cooking process. If the skin starts to get too brown before the goose is done, cover it with a tent of aluminum foil.

Interestingly enough, a goose can actually be cooked in a cooking bag with your favorite seasonings and garnishes. you cook it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also just do a regular roasting without the bag by first drying, and washing the goose first. You can place fruits and garnishes that you like within the body of the goose for good flavor. You would roast it at 350 or 450 degrees F, based on the speed of cooking that you want. Make sure to baste it with butter and white wine, or you can replace the wine with chicken broth. The goose is done when both legs can be moved back and forth with ease. Sounds really good!
