Cooked chicken has to be refrigerated after it's been out for an hour after serving. If you don't plan on eating the chicken within 3-4 days its best to freeze it so it can last longer and take it out when your ready to eat it. Cooked chicken should stored securely in an air tight container in the coldest part of your refrigerator and/or freezer.
