A long time ago, (a few years that is) IP addresses were dynamic, meaning they changed at least once every day, if not every time that you reconnected to the Internet. Now though, with computers having 'always on' capabilities, such as Cable Broadband and DSL, more often you're coming across static IP address schemes. Static IP addresses don't change. You do have two options though. The first is to call up your Internet provider, and ask them to release your IP address, and assign you a new one. The second is to open up a command prompt on your computer (Start, run, 'cmd'.) In the command window type in 'ipconfig/release' to give up your current IP address. Then type in 'ipconfig/renew' to get a new IP address.
