A pork barrel is when legislators add amendments to a bill that will benefit only one area. The bills sponser now has something in the bill to 'pay for' the others vote. Some groups are trying to get rid of pork barrel legislation saying the it increases spending and allows for veto of whole bill just to get rid of the ammendment.
