To date the easiest way is the internet. There are alot of agencies that offer credit checks, and they range differently in price. If you are checking someones credit other than your own, you definately should have a reason and permission to do so (ex: landlords before renting to a tenant, credit cards, loans, etc.) It is important to see an up to date FICA score and best to verify with an agency that will provide information from three different credit reporting agencies all in one request. In the US, main agencies seem to be Transunion, Equifax and Experian. You may see the information right online or they may mail it in the US Mail. A social security number, current address, and perhaps for identify purposes, ask for place of employment most recently, and sometimes recent credit purchases.
